PSA Peugeot Citroen Group ( PSA Group ) trying to start lagging sales in key global markets, so the co-operators of a factory began mass production of the Citroen brand's new flagship model in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu and the Chinese partner Dongfeng Motor Group C5 the X- .

Dongfeng to this week said that this crossover wagon is equipped with a PSA of 360 THP eight-speed automatic transmission turbocharged gasoline engine and Aisin Seiki offered , will be 9 to enter the Chinese market months.

C5 X only factory in Chengdu, expressed Citroen , the car will be exported to Europe and other Asian countries.

According to Citroen, the Chengdu plant will also produce a plug-in car .

Citroen is now part of Stellattis and needs new products to boost its sluggish sales in China.

Because of the Peugeot 2008 and 3008 demand for cross-border and other new models, the French carmaker in 2015 in a record of nearly   70 Wan vehicles record annual sales, but the lack of new models, the French car manufacturers in recent years, Sales in China have gradually decreased.
