The HS PHEV is the second model of the MG plug-in hybrid series to enter the Australian auto market. The landing price is set at 46,990 Australian dollars. For the Australian auto market, the HS PHEV will compete with Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Ford Ruiji ST-Line PHEV after listing. The former is priced at 47,990 Australian dollars and the latter is priced at 52,490 Australian dollars.

Although the HS PHEV is cheaper than its rivals, the pure electric battery life of the lithium battery pack can still reach 52 kilometers. In terms of power, the Australian version of the HS PHEV is equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a front axle drive motor. The comprehensive power can reach 214 kilowatts, the comprehensive torque can reach 480 N·m, and the lithium battery pack capacity is 16.6 kilowatt-hours. The above parameters are exactly the same as the MG eHS PHEV currently on sale in China.

In 2019, MG HS participated in the Australian ANCAP crash test and received a 5-star safety rating. Because the HS is to be replaced, the results will still be valid in subsequent versions. In the specific test score rate, the occupant protection was 92%, the child protection was 83%, the pedestrian protection was 64%, and the safety configuration score was 77%.

From the configuration point of view, the single version sold in Australia is equivalent to the current top model in China, while the official naked car price in China is 219,800. Because there is no purchase tax, plus insurance, the domestic landing price can be controlled within 230,000, and even if terminal discounts are included, it may be done in the early 220,000. This is cheaper than the landing price of 235,900 yuan in Australia. But taking into account the purchasing power of the two countries, the last question is left to everyone: Is it easy to earn 46,900 Australian dollars? Or is it easy to earn 219,800 yuan?
